Education For All

Unlike twenty years ago when education was only left for the affluent families , Kenya has made great strides as far as knowledge acquisition by all is concerned. A couple of years back ,if was quite normal for a child to tell the parents "dad I no longer want to go to school, I suggest that you find me some training to do".  The next thing the parent could do is to consult the nearby relatives with connections to the technical institutes. Currently, the government of Kenya has introduced a one hundred transition programme that will all see students join high school despite their KCPE marks. Although it is a very significant move that would ensure acquisition of basic education by majority, high school teachers have protested citing too much workload that is not commensurate with their pay and available human resource. The government is expected to roll out the program with the prospective form one candidates come July .
